What is the simplest definition of information security?
It is the science that examines the theories and strategies for providing protection for information from the threats it threatens and activities to attack it, and it is also the means, tools, and procedures that are required to ensure that our information is protected from electronic hazards.
What are the working hours?
The official working hours start from Sunday to Thursday, weekly 7:30 am until 2:30 pm.
Does the National Information Security and Safety Authority have memberships in international organizations for computer emergency response teams?
Yes, the Commission has permanent membership in the following organizations:
Organization of the Islamic Countries for Computer Emergency Response Teams (OIC-CERT):
The National Authority for Information Security and Safety owns membership in the Organization of Islamic Countries for computer emergency response teams, which is headquartered in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The Africa-CERT Computer Emergency Response Team Forum:
The National Information Security and Safety Authority is a founding member of the Computer Emergency Response Teams Forum at the African continent level.
The authority is seeking membership in the FIRST Forum, by preparing the requirements to join this forum.
If the user detects that his system is infected, what should he do?
- Inform the information technology team of the (employer) immediately.
Ensure that the device does not use other personnel.
Be prepared to inform the IT team of any action taken that may have caused the infection.
Turn off the device.
What is a disaster recovery plan?
The data center should have a disaster recovery plan, provided that it addresses an answer to the following questions:
What can be considered a disaster? Who is alerted of a disaster and how is it? Who performs the damage assessment and decides which reserve resources should be used? Where are the backup sites located and what is being done to maintain them and what is the timeline for that? How many times and under what conditions is the plan updated? If the organization does not own the data center, how long will the contracted data center be out of service until it comes back to work? A list of people and organizations that must be notified by the network operations center staff, including office and home numbers, mobile numbers, and instant communication identifiers if possible, must be maintained and updated.
