Evaluation

NISSA evaluates and reviews networks and systems while issuing accreditation certificates ensuring the application of national and international standards and requirements. Consequently, the technical teams of NISSA carry out penetration testing of all networks, systems and applications to ensure their safety.

Communication

NISSA maintains continuous communication with its constituency in both private and public sectors in order to consolidate all efforts devoted to the safety and security of information. Concurrently, NISSA stays in touch with many organizations associated with computer emergency response teams. NISSA is a member of the IOC-CERT (The Organization of The Islamic Cooperation Computer Emergency Response Team) and a founding member of the regional AfricaCERT (The African forum of computer incident response teams). NISSA is also working towards being an effective member of FIRST (Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams).

Solutions

NISSA provide security solutions that are related to its mandate such as firewalls and intrusion detection and prevention systems and Anti-viruses. It also provides a number of services associated with emergency incidents response and management in the IT domain.

Studies

NISSA works on preparing plans and studies needed to continuously improve the level of information security nationwide. Meanwhile, conduct various research and studies into the domain of digital encryption.

Policies

NISSA is mandated to establish the correct principles necessary to formulate the ICT safety and security policies and standards and the needed guides and definitions. For instance, password policies, access policies, and social media policies, etc. Besides, NISSA is an essential partner in drafting national Cybersecurity laws that addresses e-Crime.

Monitoring

NISSA continuously monitors the national network and works on improving its performance and ensures their safety and compliance with internationally approved standards, which in turn enables NISSA to report weaknesses and breaches that they may be exposed to. Meanwhile, NISSA can immediately respond to any attacks that the national network may be exposed to and in cooperation with the aforementioned international organizations.

Awareness

NISSA works towards raising the awareness about the security and safety of information and issues related to Internet governance, and NISSA also seeks to persuade officials in the private and government organizations to establish information security and safety units in their organizational structure.
